I have been actively putting Emmie in some class. Music, storytime, gymnastics, whatever I can take to get us out of the house. Lol! Without a familiar face in sight, Emmie developed the worst stranger danger phase ever! When anyone dared to look at her, she would immediately cry. It seemed like it lasted so long! Although it was rough, I understand how uncomfortable she would get.
I thought to myself. How can I change this? My goals for her was to build more confidence, have more social skills, and meet some new friends.
When I found the perfect school, it happened to be just around the corner. It was four days a week for a couple of hours. The time away gave me a chance to focus on myself and my health. I turned to a routined gym session and ran some errands. It was a win-win situation for both of us. May I add that it was a good break too. =)
Emmie loved it there! She loved her teachers and her new friends. Every day after school, Emmie would tell me all the things Emmie learned in class. Every work she brought home filled with so much accomplishment. “Look, mommy, I made this!” At that point, I realized my goals for her came true.
It gave me the confidence I needed to set her up for kindergarten. She is an entirely different person than she was two years ago. I am so proud of her, but in a way, I’m somewhat sad.
My first baby is all grown up!
Love you baby girl!
