2019 Blog Reflection

December 31, 2019

When I started my blog back in June, I had so many ideas and goals I wanted to achieve. I look back; I realize how much I’ve learned about this community and how much I’ve challenged myself to learn more!

BLOG REVIEW

My goal for my blog was to share my favorite finds, experiences, and journeys about motherhood and lifestyle, but now I think it has evolved more about myself and the challenges I face. Not letting fear and opinions get the best of me. A few things I’ve learned are to stay true to myself, blog about things people are interested in, and remain consistent.

I’m glad that some of you have found me. Through my blog, Pinterest or Instagram. The best support I’ve gotten was from all of you taking the time to check out my page, liking my blog and photos, or commenting on them. I also take the time to explore and read other post from bloggers as much as I can. Returning my support as well.

The past months I set goals for myself and I’m happy of how far I’ve come. I’m glad that I’ve made changes to better our lives.

AUDIOBOOKS

Libby is an app that allows you to borrow books from your local library. All you need is a library card. It’s worth it! Especially if you don’t mind waiting for your books. Also, I love the fact that I don’t have to pay or store them. Since then, I have listened to 15 Audiobooks.

PODCASTS

So thankful my husband got me some AirPods because if I’m not listening to my books, I will alternate it with some podcasts. If you have any podcasts you like, let me know! I’d love to check them out. Here were a few that I listened to once in a while.

SOCIAL MEDIA

I have a love-hate relationship with social media. So many benefits to it like, keeping up with your friends and family, meeting new people, exposing brands and content, but there’s a dark side to it. Some ways are addiction, comparison of others, and spending habits increases.

I found myself reaching for my phone often. I hated that I’d turn to it by habit. So I turned off all notification reduced my time in half, but I’d want to lower it more.

KIDS

In the past few months, I’ve limited screen time and explore new activities with them. Lots of playgrounds and Menchies dates, learning activities-reading, painting, legos, pretend play, coloring, etc. I’ve been so involved with the girl’s lives teaching them as much as I could, but I get so burnt out by the end of the day. Lol! I have so much respect for teachers! That’s all I have to say.

HEALTH

My health should always be a priority, but I took things for granted lately. I wasn’t watching what I ate and barely exercised. I am thin, but I was so unhealthy. It wasn’t until I had a scare for my health. I had terrible migraines for days at a time, even though I’d drink a lot of water. I had a doctor visit and MRI scan, and luckily they didn’t find anything. I’ve never experienced anything like that before. It was scary!

So I took matters into my own hands and started paying attention to my health. I began to portion control and limit my sweets. I also started working out 3-5 days a week for 30 minutes. I also asked for help around the house and the kids so I can catch a break. I got the kids on a schedule and had ‘me time’ whenever I could. I haven’t had any migraines since then, and I feel healthier than ever!

This year has been all about growth, self-awareness, setting goals, and achieving as much as I could. I’m glad to close this chapter, year, decade.

Bring it on 2020!
